Dhaka: An eyewitness, a GNC autorickshaw driver, described the horrible incident that night with Raihan Uddin, 40, of Akhalia, who died in “torture” at the Bandarbazar police post in Sylhet.

The police took Raihan to the outpost in an autorickshaw.
The autorickshaw driver, who did not want to be named, said in an interview with a Sylhet-based YouTube channel that police removed Raihan from a cleaning room in the Kastghar area of Sylhet city on Saturday night. (October 12 °). Earlier, two unidentified men went to the police in front of the Mashrafee restaurant in the city and reported to the police about a robbery in the alley of the delivery house.
The autorickshaw driver said that when police called Raihan out of a street sweeper’s room, they did not see any kidnapping or mass beating. Police pulled him out of the alley and into the outpost in a second autorickshaw. Raihan was in a healthy body then. At this point, he had a discussion with members of the police and said: I am not a thief or a criminal.
After leading Raihan inside, two autorickshaw drivers waited outside the outpost. Later in the morning, Raihan was taken to Osmani Hospital in an autorickshaw by one of the two drivers in critical condition.
The autorickshaw driver added that Raihan’s condition worsened after he was taken to the hospital and given oxygen. Earlier, the driver saw injury marks on his knees and fingers as he pulled him out of the outpost. At that moment, the driver heard two policemen say: ‘Does someone kill someone so ruthlessly? Sir had to be killed because he gave the order. ‘
The autorickshaw driver said Sub-Inspector (SI) Akbar was at the outpost that night and that Raihan was beaten on his instructions.
The autorickshaw driver said that Akbar had brutally tortured Raihan with his bare hands.
