Two children, including a husband and wife, were strangled by criminals in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira. The incident took place in the village of Khalsi in the Helatala Upazila Union on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Shahinur Rahman, 40, his wife Sabina Khatun, 30, their son Siam Hossain Mahi, 9, and their daughter Tasnim, 8.

Kalaroa Police Station Officer-in-Charge (CO) Haran Chandra Pal confirmed the news. Who or what entered the room this morning and killed the brothers and sisters by strangulation first. At that moment, mother Sabina Khatun and father Shahinur Rahman, who were in the next room, woke up after hearing her moans. Later, the scoundrel locked the door with a chain from outside and fled.

Shahinur’s younger brother, Raihanul Islam, said a total of six people, including four from his mother and brother’s family, lived in the home. On Wednesday, her mother and older brother went to visit a relative’s home. Meanwhile, when he heard the sound of groaning in his house this morning, he came running and saw that everyone was dead.

Raihanul alleged that they had a dispute with a family next door over his family’s land. He thinks this may be the motive for the murder.

Meanwhile, Satkhira (SP) Police Superintendent Mostafizur Rahman and other police officers are visiting the scene.
