Satkhira: The malefactors have cut the throats of four members of the same family in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira.
The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday (October 15) in the village of Khalsi in the union of the Upazila of Helatla.
The deceased were identified as Shahinur Rahman, 40, the son of Shahajan Ali from Khalsi village, his wife Sabina Khatun, 30, their son Siam Hossain Mahi, 9, and their daughter Tasnim, 7. The other boy Shahinur’s four-month-old is still alive in the incident.
Shahinur Rahman’s younger brother, Raihanul Islam, said they had seven people at home, including five members of his mother’s family and his older brother. My mother was yesterday in the house of a relative. He (Raihanul) was in the next room. In the morning he heard the children humming from the next room. He immediately stepped forward and saw the door of the house closed from outside. He opened the door and saw the body of his brother-in-law. Soon after, the children also died. However, Shahinur’s other daughter, Maria, aged four months, is still alive. There are no signs of injury on his body.
He further said that there is a dispute between them and some people over the land. But I don’t understand who caused this incident.
The Deputy Inspector (SI) of the Kalaroa Mofizul Police Station confirmed the matter to Bangladesh from the scene. Between them, Shahinur’s legs were obstructed and the door to her room was open. The killers are believed to have entered the house through the roof door. Police have begun work to unravel the mystery of the incident.
