Sylhet: The body of Raihan Uddin (30), who was tortured at the Bandarbazar police post in Sylhet, will be exhumed for a new autopsy. The body is scheduled to be exhumed on Thursday (October 15) at 9 a.m. M.

The PBI investigation team went to Raihan’s home in the Akhalia Neharipara area around 6:30 pm.
Earlier in the day, at a briefing in front of the Bandarbazar police post, PBI SP Khaleduzzaman said: “We have collected information and evidence and we have taken statements from some people.” They will be reviewed and a decision will be made.
The investigation team gathered information from the witness Surai Lal during the arrest of Raihan, who was killed in the castle. Information is also collected from local people and merchants.
Raihan Uddin died at Osmani Medical College Hospital on Sunday morning. He is a resident of the Akhalia Neharipara area of the city of Sylhet. Raihan was beaten to death by the police. Relatives and relatives of the deceased claimed that Raihan Uddin was tortured to death at the Bandarbazar police post.
The victim’s wife, Tahmina Akhter Tani, filed a murder case against unidentified individuals at the Kotwali Model Police Station. The Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) suspended four policemen, including SI Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan, in charge of the police post, and withdrew three more.
The four sacked policemen are SI Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan, in charge of the Bandarbazar Police Post, Officer Harunur Rashid, Touhid Mia and Titu Chandra Das. The three retired police officers are ASI Ashek Elahi, ASI Qutb Ali and Constable Sajib Hossain. However, SI Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan has been on the run since the morning of the incident.
