Daily worker wages in government offices increased by Rs 100

The Finance Department of the Ministry of Finance issued an office order on Wednesday reinstating the daily wage.

In the last salary rate fixed in 2016, regular skilled workers in different government departments in Dhaka and Chittagong City Corporation areas used to receive a daily salary of Tk 500, now it has increased to Tk 800.

And the wages of unskilled irregular workers have increased by Rs 565; That used to be 485 rupees.

Furthermore, the daily salary of regular skilled workers in the divisional cities and other corporate areas of the city has been increased from Rs 500 to Rs 600. In the case of irregular unskilled workers, it has increased from Tk 450 to Tk 550.

The daily salary for regular skilled workers in the district and upazila areas has been set at 550 taka; Which used to cost 450 rupees. The wages of unskilled workers in an irregular situation have increased to Rs 500; Which used to cost 400 rupees.

In the government salary structure, salaries for permanent employees are set at 20 degrees, of which the base salary in the lowest grade starts at 8,250 taka. Combined with other allowances and benefits, at the end of the month, an employee of that grade earns around Rs 20,000.

Those who work for a daily wage are not included in that structure. These workers are employed in any project or labor need, if there is no work they do not have a salary.

According to the order of the finance department, the number of workers for the daily wage hiring must be approved by the competent authority.

This expense must be covered by the respective budget allocation of the ministry or department or direction or direction or department or agency in question. In case of any irregularity, the invoice payment authority will be responsible.

No additional allowance can be claimed in this sector. Workers cannot be hired on a monthly basis at the daily wage rate.

The rescheduling rate will also apply to departments where the Department of Finance had previously set the daily wage rate for workers on a case-by-case basis. The new rate will be effective from the date the order is issued.
