A case has been brought against Nurul Haque Nur, former Vice President (VP) of the Central Student Parliament of Dhaka University (Daksu), under the Digital Security Act for “ insulting ” a student from the Department of Studies Islamic University of Dhaka on social media Facebook Live.

The DU student brought the case to the Bangladesh Cyber Crimes Court on Wednesday. After the hearing, Judge Jaglul Hossain ordered the Police Investigation Office (PBI) to investigate the case.

The court’s prosecutor (PP), Nazrul Islam Shamim, confirmed the matter to the media. “In addition, the court has ordered to present an investigation report on November 29,” he added.

The fourth-year student from the Dhaka University Department of Islamic Studies filed two cases against Nur and his colleagues under the Digital Security Act on September 21, alleging rape and attempted rape. He has been on hunger strike at the foot of the Raju anti-terrorist sculpture in front of the TST since October 8, demanding the arrest of the accused. On Monday, police detained two of Nur’s colleagues, Nazmul Hasan Sohag, joint coordinator of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council, and Nazmul Huda, vice president of the Dhaka University Student Rights Council, during a hunger strike.

However, the applicant is on a hunger strike demanding the arrest of Nur and other defendants in the case. In such a context, the former Daksh vice president took to Facebook live last Monday.

Commenting on the student as’ mischievous’, Nur said: ‘You have seen a photo with Nazmul Hasan Sohag that went viral on Facebook, happily in the launch booth. In the cabin of the boat where the girl filed the rape complaint. Absolutely funny, shh! We condemn that, who is doing so much drama, who is a bitch. That is the drama of rape. Voluntarily to bed with a guy, happily at lunch.

On Live, the former Daksh vice president also denied the allegations in the two cases, the plaintiff in the case and his hunger strike. In an hour and 22 minutes of live, Nur called the student a ‘bitch’ and several discussions and criticisms have already begun on social networks.

In light of this, a case was filed against the DU Noor student in court today.

‘A very insulting word for a girl’

The plaintiff in the case said in the statement: “The plaintiff in this case is simple, veiled, and a deserving student of Islamic Studies at Dhaka University. On the other hand, the defendant (VP Noor) often posts his fabricated, illegal, anti-government and anti-state, false, meaningless and provocative statements on social media to go viral for no reason.

The plaintiff further said that the defendant had posted a video of his used Facebook ID calling Badini “immoral.” Which is a very insulting word for a girl. As the defendant said in the aforementioned video, ‘Boo! We condemn that she is acting so much that she is acting immorally, she acted as a rapist by going to bed with a child voluntarily. ”

‘Which is insulting, defamatory and offensive false information for Badini. Since the accused is the leader of an organization called the Student Rights Council, his provocative comments are offensive, annoying, insulting, humiliating and degrading to society. And tarnishes and tarnishes Badini’s reputation.

The DU student mentioned in the statement that it is an offense punishable under sections 25 (1) / a, 29 (1), 31 (2) of the Digital Security Act.
