Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that Azerbaijan will suspend military action in prison if Turkey changes position. Again he blamed Turkey for the Nagorno-Karabakh war.
In an interview with Reuters on Tuesday, Pashinyan further stated that Azerbaijan will not stop until Turkey’s position changes. They will not stop the conflict.
However, Turkey has warned that Armenia will have to pay a price for the attacks on Azerbaijani civilians.
On Monday, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said that Armenia had carried out attacks in several residential areas in Azerbaijan. This is a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement. For all this, one day they will have to confront history and international law.
Since September 27, Armenia and Azerbaijan have been at war with the Nagorno-Karabakh opposition. Later, on October 10, marathon talks were held between Armenia and Azerbaijan under the auspices of Russia.
Both sides agreed to a temporary ceasefire on humanitarian grounds. During the ceasefire, the two countries agreed to exchange POWs and other prisoners and hand over their bodies.
The ceasefire would take effect on October 11. But just minutes after the ceasefire, Armenia and Azerbaijan accused each other of violating the ceasefire.
The Karabakh region is internationally recognized as a territory of Azerbaijan. However, the region has been controlled by ethnic Armenians since the 1990s. In that decade, more than 30,000 people died in wars with Armenia and Azerbaijan.
