Armenian and Azerbaijani forces have continued to counterattack Nagorno-Karabakh in violation of the ceasefire. Several members of the armed forces on both sides were killed.
Ethnic Armenian officials in Nagorno-Karabakh say 16 of their more soldiers were killed in clashes with Azerbaijan. Since the start of the conflict between the two neighbors in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 26, 542 Armenian soldiers have been killed so far.
On the other hand, several members of the Azerbaijani army were also killed, Baku said. In the 1990s, bloody wars between the two countries killed more than 30,000 people and displaced more than a million.
Although the two countries reached a ceasefire agreement in 1994, tensions rose from time to time. But the current tensions in the region are dire.
Despite accepting a ceasefire brokered by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Armenian and Azerbaijani armies met again less than two days later.
However, Russia has called on both countries to respect the ceasefire agreement.
