Torture of naked women in Noakhali

The Begumganj OC Model Police Station Harun Aur Rashid Chowdhury was withdrawn on Tuesday, nine days after a case was brought against a 35-year-old woman in Eklashpur of Begumganj Upazila for torturing, capturing and distributing videos.

The district police superintendent confirmed the incident. Alamgir Hossain said that the CO has been attached to the DIG Chittagong Range Office. He could not say why he was called.

The main culprit of the Delwar incident was arrested in 5 cases

The RAB arrested Delwar Hossain, the main perpetrator of the incident, on 5 October at Siddirganj in Narayanganj. In the morning, the inspector from PBI Noakhali’s office, Mamunur Rashid Patwari, presented him in the third district court in Amal. Senior Judge Mashfiqul Haque released Delwar on bail and ordered him to remain in pre-trial detention. The court also granted the police’s request to show Delwar’s arrest in the rape case brought against him and in two previous weapons and explosives cases.

Sumon in preventive detention for 4 days

PBI presented Shamsuddin Sumon, the seventh defendant in the case, in the same court on Tuesday. When the investigating officer of the case asked the court for his 7-day preventive detention, the judge granted him a 4-day preventive detention and ordered that he be sent to jail.

Member’s bail request denied

Another defendant in the case, UP member Moazzem Hossain Sohag, requested bail in the same court on Tuesday. After the hearing, the court denied him bail and ordered that he be sent to jail.

Kalam’s confession

Abul Kalam, Delwar’s main accomplice, the main defendant in Case No. 3, was placed in pre-trial detention. Mostafizur Rahman appeared in the same court and requested the acceptance of his confessional statement. Later in the afternoon, the court judge Masfiqul Haque recorded his statement in section 164. In the end, the court ordered that the accused be sent to jail.

Decision not to provide legal assistance to the accused

Mollah Habibur Rasul Mamun, president of the district bar association, said that no lawyer from the district bar would provide legal assistance to the defendants in the case. Because of this, lawyers did not provide legal assistance to defendant member Moazzem Hossain Sohag in court on Tuesday.
