Chief Elections Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said Faridpur-4 MP Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury, aka Nixon, had violated the code of conduct and that action would be taken in accordance with the electoral law.

Speaking to reporters at the elections building in Agargaon on Tuesday, the CEC said: “We have received a complaint (from the Cabinet Division) against the MP. We are gathering information on this.

He also said that a case will be filed if necessary.

KM Nurul Huda said: ‘I have had a meeting with the electoral commissioners on the matter. We have decided what to do. You will be informed in a day or two.

Earlier, a letter was sent to the Election Commission (EC) of the Cabinet Division to take action against Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury.

The CEC said that what he did during the upazila elections was undesirable.

“He has violated the Electoral Code of Conduct and actions will be taken against him in accordance with the law. Even if he is a member of Parliament, he will not be an exception ”, he added.

Meanwhile, Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury has claimed that the audio of the abusive phone call to officer Charbhadrasan Upazila Nirbahi (UNO) of Faridpur spread on social media was fabricated.

He claimed that the statement has been “super-credited.” He made no such insult.

Mujibur Rahman made these demands today at a press conference at the National Press Club. A press conference was organized in the Charbhadrasan upazila by-election held on Saturday against the “biased behavior and torture of the Faridpur Deputy Commissioner”.

Mujibur Rahman said: “On election day, the magistrate arrested one of our workers for smoking while standing in the center field. I informed UNO by phone. Statements that have been released outside of this should be edited. These have no basis.
