The ruins of a centuries-old civilization, the city of Machu Picchu is one of the main tourist attractions in Peru.
Jesse Kataiyama from Japan visited Peru last March to see Machu Picchu. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, air communication between the two countries was cut off shortly after.
The doors of Machu Picchu were closed for the same reason. Kataiyama fell into extreme misery. I could not return to the country, I could not see Machu Picchu, part of the world heritage.
ু Machu Pichu was formed around 1450. The city may have been named Machu Picchu, which means ‘Old Peak’, because it was built on top of a hill. The city of Machu Picchu is located at an altitude of approximately 2,400 meters (8.85 feet) above sea level.
According to the BBC, the stranded tourist Katayama made a special request to the Peruvian Ministry of Culture for a chance to see Machu Picchu.
The ministry responded to his request and allowed him to visit this traditional place in a special arrangement. Kataiyama traveled to Machu Picchu last Saturday.
“He came to Peru with the dream of visiting Machu Picchu,” Peruvian Culture Minister Alejandro Neira said Monday at a virtual press conference.
“He was allowed to go there with the park chief on Saturday. So that I can see the place before returning to the country ”.
In a video, Kataiyama is seen celebrating her long-awaited trip to the top of Machu Picchu Mountain. “This tour is really cool, thank you,” he said.
So far, 8,49,000 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 infection in Peru. More than 33,000 people died.
