The owner of a diagnostic center in Naogaon’s Badalgachhi upazila works as a doctor during the day and as a ward aide at night. And so there have been reports of cheating with patients.
The name of the ward boy and doctor is known to be Jahidul Islam. He is the owner of the Paharpur Ekia Diagnostic Center. He passed high school in 1998 and high school in 2000 in the humanities department. He introduced himself as a doctor. That is why he sees the patient regularly from morning to night. There are a lot of patients there. In addition to viewing the patient, an ultrasound, ECG, and X-ray are performed. It has the same signature on the prescription and on every report.
Jahidul Islam is the son of Subid Ali from the village of Uttar Rampur in Badalgachhi upazila of Naogaon. He works as OT Boy (Operating Room Assistant) at Raushan Clinic and Diagnostic Center in Joypurhat District Sadar. Here he is on call at night and sees patients in his diagnostic center during the day. He has been running the diagnostic center illegally for almost five years.
Ekia Diagnostic Center is located next to Paharpur Union Parishad. Jahidul Islam said that at night he was working as an OT child in a clinic and diagnostic center in Joypurhat. He claims not to use the word “doctor” before his name. However, he remained silent when the patients present asked him to introduce himself as a ‘doctor’.
Also, he could not recall subjects other than Bengali and English in response to the question of what subjects were taught at HSC. He claimed to have an MBBS degree from the Indian Council of Alternative Medicine, Kolkata, adjacent to the Sealdah station in India. However, he could not say what MBBS stands for. When asked if it was possible to study medicine as a humanities student, Zahidul Islam said: “I made a mistake.”
Said the Naogaon Civil Surgeon. ABM Abu Hanif said: ‘Dr. Akia Diagnostic Center Badalgachhi Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer. Kaniz Farhana was instructed to investigate and submit a report. Legal action will be taken subject to receipt of the investigation report.
The matter was discussed at a public order meeting in the Upazila Parishad room at 10 am on Sunday. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer at the meeting. Kaniz Farhana said: ‘The matter is being investigated. It has flaws. ‘
Necessary steps will be taken according to the instructions after informing the higher authorities in writing.
