The owner of the Paharpur Ekia Diagnostic Center in Badalgachhi, Naogaon, has been accused of deceiving patients under the guise of a doctor during the day and a ward child at night.

Zahidul Islam, owner of Paharpur Ekia Diagnostic Center, is known to have passed secondary level in 1996 and upper secondary level in 2000 in the humanities department. Then in 2004, he took MBBS from Kolkata and told everyone about it. But he has a medical certificate from the town. He introduced himself as an experienced physician. He performs ultrasounds, ECGs, and X-rays at regular intervals to view the patient. It has the same signature on each of these reports along with the prescription.

Jahidul Islam is the son of Subid Ali from the village of Uttar Rampur in Badalgachhi upazila of Naogaon. Jahidul is working as OT Boy (Operating Room Assistant) with the rank of MLSS at Raushan Clinic and Diagnostic Center, Joypurhat District Sadar. Here he is on duty at night. Although he was a doctor during the day, he was a child at night. He has been running the diagnostic center illegally for almost five years.

Ekia Diagnostic Center is located next to Paharpur Union Parishad. When company owner Zahidul Islam was asked about various company issues, he said that at night he was working as an OT child in a clinic and diagnostic center in Joypurhat. He claims that the doctor did not use the word before his name. However, he did not respond when asked by patients present about introducing himself as a doctor.

I couldn’t think of anything but Bengali and English on the question of what subjects were at HSC. Although he claimed to have an MBBS degree from the Indian Council of Alternative Medicine, Kolkata, adjacent to the Sealdah station in India, he could not say the full meaning of MBBS. Is it possible to study MBBS or medicine as a student of the humanities department? In response to that question, he said, “It was my mistake.”

According to the rules, the diagnostic center laboratory must be 56 square feet. The collection room, storage room, and pathologist’s room must be at least 150 square feet, which is not there. In this regard, Jahidul Islam frankly admits that there is no physician, pathologist or sonologist employed at his diagnostic center. Everyone connects or views the report online.

Although it is possible to view the report online, how do you get your signature? In response to such a question, he said, they have already signed. Although he talked about seeing and signing the report of the specialist doctor, here he signed all the ECGs, x-rays and ultrasounds. Recognizing the lack of technologists and doctors in accordance with the rules, he said: “All the diagnostic centers in the surrounding districts and upazilas operate in this way.”

He said that when renewing the registration of the diagnostic center, he applied with the information required according to the regulations of the health department. When asked how he did the job with false information, he said there were special arrangements in this case.

Said the Naogaon Civil Surgeon. ABM Abu Hanif said, Dr. Badaliagachi Upazila, Health and Family Planning Officer, about the Ekia Diagnostic Center. Kanis Farhana was instructed to submit an investigation report. Actions will be taken subject to receipt of the investigation report.

The matter was discussed at a law and order meeting in the Upazila Parishad room at 10 am Sunday. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer at the meeting. Kaniz Farhana said the matter is being investigated. Necessary steps will be taken as instructed after informing higher authorities about this in writing.
