Nationwide, the government’s Institute of Pathology, Disease Control and Research, IEDCR, found that 9.7 percent of coronavirus samples were infected.

The study was conducted between April 18 and July 5. The study was conducted on behalf of IEDCR by the International Center for Diarrhea Research, Bangladesh-ICDDR, B.Sc. In collaboration was the USAID development agency.

According to the study, up to that point in July, 45% of people in Dhaka were infected with coronavirus and antibodies were produced in their bodies.

The information was given at a seminar on the emergence and expansion of Covid-19 in Dhaka on Monday at the Lakeshore Hotel in Gulshan.

According to the seminar, a 9.6 percent coronavirus was detected in samples of 12,899 people in 25 districts of the capital Dhaka.

Sixty or more than 24 percent of the victims. 18 percent from 15 to 19 years old.

The seminar reported that “information has also been found in Bangladesh” about the second Kovid-19 attack.

During the seminar, the Additional Director General (Planning and Development) of the Ministry of Health, Mirzadi Sebrina Flora, presented various information and data on the first stage of coronavirus infection.

Professor Sebrina Flora was the director of the IEDCR at the time of the study.

The current Additional Director General of the Department of Health said: “This information is very important. The information that has been given so far was based on those who come to perform the test. No information was taken on those who were at home.

“It just came to our attention then. According to the World Health Organization, one in ten people is infected. Our information is also around 9.8. So the image around the world is the same as ours.”

Dr. Mirzadi Sebrina Flora said that 1 percent of the study participants went to the hospital.

“We just realized that most of the victims here had mild symptoms. According to the survey, 72% of Covid-19 positives are asymptomatic. They did not know that their coronavirus was positive. But we don’t know this 72 percent. They can spread disease. For this reason, if you wear a mask, it may not spread to the people around you. That’s why it’s important to be careful. “

The Minister of Health, Zahid Malek, was the main guest of the seminar. He joined the seminar virtually.

The Health Minister said: “The government has made a swift decision to prevent the new coronavirus infection. Because of this, the prevalence of the coronavirus is lower in the country.

“Bangladesh has done better than many other countries in controlling the corona. So far 1 to 109 labs have been established, Central Oxygen, High Flow Nasal Cannula and everything else has been fixed.”

USAID Bangladesh Mission Director Derrick S. Brown and ICDDR Bir Bangladesh Executive Dr. Tahmid Ahmed were present.
