After a two-day search on the Nabganga River in Magura, Mahid’s (8) body was tied to a boat on Sunday (October 11) and recovered by divers from the fire service. On October 8, Mahid disappeared from the village of Barashia in Sadar upazila. The initial idea of the police is that this incident has occurred to avenge the earlier hostility.

Police said the family was demanded a ransom of Tk 20 lakh to return Mahid. After the incident, a general diary was kept at the Magura Sadar police station on behalf of the family. Police located the phone and arrested neighbor Imran Ali Aslam and his 14-year-old son Rohan. According to his confession, his body was found handcuffed to a palm boat after a two-day search on the Nabaganga River in the village of Barashia.
During questioning, Rohan said that Mahid was taken to the boat in a boat on the day of the incident and said they showed him a monkey. Then he took the boat to the middle of the river, tied his hands and sank him alive.

Joynal Abedin, the officer in charge of the Magura Sadar Police Station, said the murder was initially believed to have been caused by enmity. A murder case is being prepared in this regard.
