Dhaka: Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Abrar Fahad was examined at Sher-e-Bangla Hall and pronounced dead by BUET Quarter Deputy Medical Director Dr. Masuk Elahi. Even then, Mehdi Hasan Russell, the then general secretary of the BUET Chhatra League, kept pushing him to take him to Dhaka Medical College.
Sunday (October 11) Dhaka Court of First Instance, Judge Abu Zafar. Kamruzzaman testified in court in BUET Quarter Assistant Chief Medical Officer. Masuk Elahi said this.
At the end of the statement, the defendants’ lawyers questioned. The testimony of five of the 60 witnesses in the case ended. The case will be known uninterruptedly until October 28.
Dr. Testimony “On the night of Abrar’s murder, the 10/15 students surrounded the ambulance at the north gate of BUET and told me to get oxygen and a stretcher quickly,” Masuk Elahi said. So I said, I’ll see the patient first. He then led me to the stairs of the north block of Sher-e-Bangla Hall. I see Fahad lying in the space between the first and second floors of the stairs. He was wearing a plaid shirt and black pants. The pants and mattress were soaked with urine.
“At first glance, I think Abrar is dead,” Masuk Elahi said. After that, her pulse, blood pressure, and respiration were not found. Then I tried to listen to the sound of the heart with a stethoscope, but could not find the sound of the heart. Then I examined his eyes with a torch and declared Abrar dead.
He further added that as soon as Abrar was pronounced dead, everyone who was next to him fled. After a while, a guy named Russell came along and introduced himself as BUET’s student league secretary. He told Abrar to take him to Dhaka Medical College immediately. So I say, Abrar is dead. There is no benefit to taking it medically. It must be turned over to the police immediately. Russell says he didn’t die. She is sleeping. He spoke a little while ago. Talking repeatedly about taking him to the doctor. I say the same thing to Russell again.
He further said that around 3pm, he called the hall rector Zafar Iqbal Khan and informed him about Abrar’s death and asked him to come to the hall. In 10/15 minutes, the principal, the director of student welfare Shahinur Rahman, the deputy principal Iftekhar, arrived in the hall. Then Abrar was taken to the porch downstairs from the hall in Russell’s direction. Then I took a sheet from a student and covered Abrar’s body.
