Made from substandard hand sanitizer, ACI fined millions of rupees

ACI Limited, a company that manufactures and markets Savlon’s low-quality hand sanitizers, has been fined Tk 1 crore.

On Sunday night (October 11), a mobile RAB court fined the company’s Mirpur warehouse.

The operation was led by Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam of RAB headquarters. He confirmed the matter to Jago News.

Sarwar Alam said methanol was found in three batches of a 25 mg tube of Savlon instant hand sanitizer during the operation. The company has been fined Tk 1 crore for marketing and storing substandard hand sanitizers. These company-made hand sanitizers will be tested.

This Savlon product is manufactured in ACI’s own factory in Konabari, Gazipur.
