A student has faced ridicule and harassment on social media after submitting a legal notice against the government’s decision to pass the HSC exam.

The student named Shatabdi Roy was saying, “I cried all day on the first day. I couldn’t eat anything. What makes people so bad? “

On October 8, a legal notice was sent to the government of Bangladesh in favor of Shatabdi Roy, a high school candidate.

Regarding the notice, student attorney Barrister Shihab Uddin Khan said: “We have stated in the notice that the decision made on the basis of average results based on the JSC and SSC results is not reasonable.” Because many have had poor results before, but now they can be better prepared. Again, although many have had good results before, this time their preparation may not be good.

Approximately 1.4 million students were scheduled to take the HSC exam this year. However, on October 8, the Minister of Education announced that the HSC and equivalent exams for 2020 will not be conducted, but the JSC and SSC results will be determined based on your HSC results.

Many students and parents expressed their satisfaction with this decision through social media.

” There is a lack of proper thinking behind this decision, the analysis has been lacking, but it will result in the loss of talented students and workers such as notifiers. These students will face losses in future college exams, ”said attorney Shihab Uddin Khan.

“We have suggested that if the HSC test cannot be performed due to the coronavirus, it should be evaluated at least on the basis of the test results,” he said.

The call has been sent to the Secretary of Education, the General Director of Secondary and Upper Secondary Education and the President of the nine boards.

But since he sent this notice, the student has been teased and harassed on social media.

“My daughter has been attacked with very dirty language,” says Bithika Roy, the mother of the century. There has been nonsense on Facebook, YouTube. We suffer a lot. I cry a lot.

Shatabdi Roy said: “I have been harassed in various ways on Facebook and YouTube. A lot of negative comments have been made, bad things have been said. I don’t have a Facebook ID so maybe he couldn’t track any of my photos.

He doesn’t use Facebook himself. But when her friends told her about it, she saw the negative comments on her mother’s Facebook account.

You can see on Facebook that in addition to personal identification, various groups are attacking him and making various jokes.

Many people shared several screenshots about this, where he was also informed about the physical attack. However, the authenticity of these screenshots could not be impartially verified.

Shatabdi Roy said: “I have been crying all day. I couldn’t eat anything, I couldn’t sleep. My body was so bad I couldn’t take it. “

” So my relatives, my friends tell me that there is no need to be upset about it. Because they did not study, they may have failed the exam. So now they are trolling. If I’d wanted to try them, I wouldn’t have. “

“No matter what they say, I can’t stop them. The problem is theirs, not mine. I’ll do what I have to do,” says this HSC student.

He said he was receiving support from many. Many have called and expressed their support.

Regarding the submission of legal notices, Shatabdi Roy said: “My SSC results were not good. So this time I studied much more carefully. Now if the HSC result is corrected based on my previous result, I will be left behind. Rather, those who have not studied will benefit.

“We have studied for two years that the results are based on that. Based on previous results, these two years of study did not make any sense.

Attorney Shihab Uddin Khan, Shatabdi Roy’s attorney, said the decision to determine the results of the HSC must be made based on the test results within three days of receiving the notice.

Otherwise, a judicial petition will be filed in Superior Court, he said. BBC
