The South African country of Swaziland still has a monarchy. The rule is in the hands of the king. Currently King Emsati III of that country. He has 18 wives and 35 children.
His father, former King Sabhuja II, married more than 125 women. And his son, the current king, became king in 1986 at just 17 years old.
After that, he married 17 women one by one. He always marries a virgin girl. He also divorced three of his wives. 35 children are known to have been born in the wombs of their wives.
There are also rules for choosing a queen in that country. All the virgin girls of the country were first taken to the royal residence of Ludzidini, the place where the queens lived.
From there he was taken to Engabezwani Royal Residents. Later, a colorful parade was organized at the Royal Palace in Mbabane. Virgin women with knives as a symbol of virginity participated there.
Guests who came to see the ceremony and participated in the procession in front of the king. Then the king chose one of them as the new queen. Oddly enough, people from all over the country join the event with great enthusiasm.
