Antara wanted to be a lawyer as well as a musician. That dream was still elusive. He left for the Kishoreganj train station on Friday morning without returning to the country. The co-artists are in awe of the loss of Antara Mokarma Anika (19), the favorite of the district court of culture.
Witnesses said he was supposed to go to Dhaka with his mother on Friday morning to see his sick grandfather. Train tickets were also cut. The Egarasindu intercity train started running just as mother and daughter arrived at the station at 6.30 in the morning. They wanted to run and get on the train. Mother Asma Begum got up but Antara couldn’t. He slipped under the wheels of the train. The train keeps breaking it. The mother also jumped off the train to save her daughter. But everything is over now. He lost consciousness at the Kishoreganj train station after seeing the frozen loose body of his daughter. When the people of the Kishoreganj station served her mother, she regained definition. However, the police recovered the body and detained him.
Antara was scheduled to take the Gurudayal Government College in Commerce HSC exam this year. His father, Mokammel Haque, worked for a private company. Antara was the eldest of a son and a daughter. They live in a rented house in Kharampatti in the city. He was a well-known musician in Kisherganj. He used to sing on different occasions. He also ran his own YouTube channel. He was also recently at the forefront of the anti-rape movement.
At noon, visiting Antara’s house in the Kharampatti area of the city, it was seen that mother Asma Begum was in mourning like crazy. Neighbors are shedding tears for this woman’s tears. They seem to be losing the language of comfort.
Mother Asma Begum said: “The frightened cry that Antara fell and called Ammu Ammu still echoes in my ears.” If I had died instead, my soul would have found peace. He loved to travel. So I wanted to take it with me. How can I live without Antar now?
Antara’s father, Mokammel Haque, seems to have turned to stone in the show. He looked at the girl’s coffin and muttered something. When approached at the time, he said he wanted to be a lawyer. I promised. Along with his mother, I also encouraged him in cultural activities. We had many dreams with the girl. But that did not happen.
Abdur Rahman Biswas, officer in charge of the Kishoreganj railway police, said that Antara and her mother wanted to board the moving train. Mom got on the train. But the girl could not get up. He slipped and lost his balance, fell under the train and died. In this regard, one case of unnatural death has been recorded. The body has been handed over to the family without autopsy at the request of the deceased’s father.
