A 17-year-old girl was abducted and raped in Nalchiti, Jhalokati. The girl’s mother filed a case against five youths at the Nalchiti police station on Thursday night.
Police said Hasan Hawlader, 20, and his accomplices forcibly picked up the girl on a motorcycle from the Khasmahal area of the city of Nalchiti on Wednesday morning. They took her to the home of a relative in the Upazila village of Tetulbaria and raped her during the night. Hasan was assisted in the incident by four young men from the villages of Tetulbaria and Kapalbera. The relatives did not find the girl and informed the police. The next day, the accomplices arrived in Nalchiti on a motorcycle and fled.
Defendant Hasan Hawladar is a hired motorcyclist. He is the son of Nasir Hawladar from the Khasmahal area. Johnny Sikder (24) from Tetulbaria village, Rabbi (23) from Kapalbera village, Naeem Fakir (25) and Sabbir (25) participated in the kidnapping and rape.
Nalchiti Police Station Inspector (investigation) Abdul Halim Talukder said a case has been registered against the girl for kidnapping and rape. The police are conducting raids in various places to arrest the accused.
