A policeman named Saddam Hussein has been arrested in connection with the murder of his wife in Sharankhola, Bagerhat.

The deceased was identified as Jyotsna, 35. She was the second wife of the murderer Saddam Hussein.

Police initially believe the murder occurred Thursday night due to a family dispute.

The body of the deceased was recovered and sent to the Bagerhat Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Bagerhat Police Superintendent Pankaj Chandra Roy told Jugantar: “I think Saddam Hussein may have killed his wife because of a family dispute.” We arrest him. Attempts are being made to discover the true cause of the murder.

Sharankhola Police Station OC Saidur Rahman told Jugantar that Saddam strangled his wife to death around 11pm on Thursday. Later, he cut his throat with a sharp weapon, wrapped the body in polyethylene and hid it in a sack. That same night, the police raided Mamun Villa in the Tafalbari Bazar area of ​​Sharankhola. Jyotsna’s body was recovered from an abandoned house after Saddam’s capture.

He said that Jyotsna was Saddam Hussein’s second wife. He lived in the rented house with his wife and 6-year-old son.

Saddam Hussein works at the Tafalbari Police Post in Sharankhola upazila. He is the son of Abdul Latif Gazi from Baradhal village in Asashuni upazila of Satkhira district.
