Police arrested a police officer for raping a mother of two in Siddhirganj. Police arrested the sheriff after the 25-year-old rape victim filed a case Wednesday night.
The name of the accused police officer is Abdul Quddus Nayan (35). The officer in charge of the Siddhirganj (OC) police station, Kamrul Farooq, said he was working in the transportation department of the Rajarbagh police line. Quddus is the son of Siraj Miah from the village of Uttar Charmangal under the Char Fashion Police Station in Bhola District.
According to sources in the case, the woman worked in a beauty salon in the Siddhirganj area after breaking up with her husband. She met Abdul Quddus Nayan through Facebook two years ago. Since the introduction, the woman used to speak to Quddus from time to time. At one point a love story developed between them. Quddus used to visit the woman’s house at different times. Quddus went to her home Tuesday afternoon to talk about the marriage. At one stage in the conversation, Quddus, a policeman, raped her against her will.
The officer in charge of Siddhirganj (OC) Police Station Kamrul Farooq said that Abdul Quddus Nayan was arrested overnight after receiving a case based on the woman’s accusations. He was sent to court on Thursday afternoon.
