Dhaka: The High Court ordered Etihad Airways authorities to pay one million rupees as compensation for harassing two Bangladeshi citizens nine years ago. This amount must be paid within 60 days of receipt of the verdict.
The verdict was partially granted on Thursday (October 8), the verdict was announced by the Justice. Ashraful Kamal High Court Bench and Judge Rajik-al-Jalil.
Attorney Manzil Morshed conducted the case on behalf of the writ. He was assisted by the lawyer Ripon Barai and the lawyer Sanjay Mandal. Defender Ajmalul Hossain QC and Md. Etihad were in favor of the national manager. Aziz Ullah Emon.
Manzil Morshed said that when on June 26, 2011, the Supreme Court filed a judicial petition against the Etihad authorities for harassing / torturing / detaining two Bangladeshi nationals at Abu Dhabi airport, the High Court ruled on July 14 that year and ordered the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs to investigate the incident and submit a report. .
After a lengthy rules hearing, it was scheduled for today’s verdict. The High Court has ordered compensation of one crore rupees to be paid to Bangladeshi passengers Tanjin Brishti and Nahid Sultana Yuthi. Attorney Manzil Morshed said the money had to be paid within 60 days of receiving the verdict.
