Legal warning

Legal notices have been sent to interested parties seeking reconsideration of the decision to prepare high school (HSC) results based on the JSC and SSC results. The legal notice has been sent to the Secretary of the Baccalaureate and Baccalaureate Department of the Ministry of Education, the General Director of the Baccalaureate and Baccalaureate Department and the President of 9 Education Councils by certified mail.

The Supreme Court attorney, Shihab Uddin Khan, sent the notice on Thursday (October 6) on behalf of Shatabdi Roy, an upper secondary student at the Mofazzal-Momena Chakladar Women’s College in Savar and a candidate for the upper secondary exam. 2020.

According to the notice, a press conference of the Ministry of Education on Wednesday (October 8) decided to prepare the upper secondary school results based on the JSC and SSC results instead of taking the 2020 upper secondary exam. This will deprive many more students, including the issuer of the notification, to do well in high school because of their previous GPA.

The advisory said that averaging JSC and SSC results would create opportunities for erratic, unsuccessful, and unprepared students in multiple subjects, while deserving and hardworking students with a low JSC or SSC GPA would not demonstrate their efforts. Determining the results of the next test by averaging the previous results is a kind of coercive and illegal imposition, which the responsible authorities cannot legally do.
If the test cannot be performed at all due to corona, then it is required to prepare the upper secondary result based on the result of the test conducted in the respective colleges.

If within the next 3 days the demand mentioned in the call is not fulfilled, a complaint will be filed in the Superior Court Room for the realization of the fundamental right to education.
