According to the report, Major BA-6931 (Retired) Sinha Mohammad was shot dead by Inspector Liaquat Ali at the Shamlapur Police Checkpoint in the Marine Drive area below the Teknaf Police Station on 31st of July. Rashed Khan was injured. Earlier, Sinha stopped the car and gave her identity, but at first she told them to leave, but Inspector Liaquat stopped them again. Then he pointed a gun at them and told them to get out of the car. Sifat in the car raised her hand, got out of the car and backed away. As soon as he got out of the car, Inspector Liaquat shot Sinha since she was cut. Approximately 20 to 25 minutes after the incident, Teknaf OC Pradeep Kumar Das Police Station arrived at the scene and confirmed Sinha’s death when she fell to the ground. The report further stated that Sinha’s wounded body lay at the scene and that he was alive before OC Pradeep Kumar Das arrived at the scene. Later, Sinha was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital with a van. Upon his arrival at the hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead. In normal times, the distance takes more than an hour, but the extra van takes Sinha to the hospital. In addition, information was found about the involvement of SP ABM Masud Hossain of Cox’s Bazar in the murder of Sinha. It is said that he has been providing non-cooperation and obstruction since the beginning of the investigation into the incident. According to committee sources, after Sinha’s murder, members of the Army established a joint investigative tribunal through the Department of the Armed Forces on the instructions of the Prime Minister. A four-member joint investigative committee convened by the Interior Ministry convened by the Chittagong Division Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman submitted its investigative report to the Interior Ministry on 8 September. The army has also established a court of inquiry to determine the cause of Sinha’s murder. The committee has been informed that its activities are ongoing.
