EB: Jhenaidah district police have detained Jamirul, the main defendant in the case of the death of Ulfat Ara Tinni, a 2012-13 academic year student from the Department of Accounting and Information Systems of the Islamic University (IU), for three days.

Earlier, the police arrested Jamirul from the Vaina area of ​​the Magura district in the morning. Police said Jamirul was on the run shortly after Tinni’s death.

Police Superintendent Arif said: “After the arrest of the main defendant, Jamirul, I applied to the court for a three-day pretrial detention.” The wise court later granted a preventive detention of three days.

Tinni’s autopsy report became available on Monday (October 5). The report found no signs of rape, police said. Tinni is known to have committed suicide.

Last Thursday (October 1) at midnight, the home of Tinni’s older sister’s ex-husband, Jamirul Tinni, was attacked twice. Shortly after the defendants left the house after the attack, the family recovered Tinni’s hanging body from their home. So far, five of the eight defendants have been arrested in connection with the case brought by Tinni’s mother, Halima Begum, on Friday night (October 2).
