A court has granted pre-trial detention to three other people arrested in connection with the torture of a housewife in Begumganj of Noakhali. Noakhali’s chief judicial magistrate, Amli Court 3 Judge Masfiqul Haque, granted pre-trial detention on Wednesday (October 7) afternoon.
The detainees are Main Uddin Saju, Anwar Hossain Sohag and Nur Hossain Russell.
Main Uddin Saju received a preventive detention of three and six days in a case under the Law on Control of Pornography and Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children. Additionally, Anwar Hossain Sohag and Nur Hossain Russell have been detained for two days in a case under the Pornography Control Act.
So far, the court has convicted a total of seven people in different cases for torturing a housewife by stripping her.
It is known that on September 2, the husband of the housewife came to his father’s house after a long time to meet her. The husband and wife were in the bedroom together around 9 pm. At that time, Badal, Rahim, Abul Kalam, Israfil Hossain, Saju, Samsuddin Sumon, Abdur Rob, Arif and Rahmat Ullah and some other unidentified people broke down the door and entered their house. She then beat her husband and kept him in the next room.
At one point, they tried to rape the housewife by stripping her. When he did not agree, they brutally tortured him and recorded videos on his mobile phone. The attackers threatened to kill him if he told anyone about the incident. After the assailants left, the abused housewife took refuge in her sister’s home in the district town of Maijdi without informing anyone.
While there, the mobile phone attackers threatened to spread nude videos on social media if they did not accept their offer. At one point, when the video was released via social media Sunday afternoon, a nationwide fight began. Tonak Nare Administration. So far, eight people have been arrested for the incident.
