Cox’s Bazar Teknaf Major (Retd.) Sinha. The Bangladesh Army has released the latest investigative report into the murder of Rashed Khan. According to the report, he survived the shooting. The fired CO of the Teknaf Model Police Station, Pradeep Kumar Das, came to the scene and confirmed the death of Major (Retired) Sinha, who fell to the ground in a very cruel and inhuman manner.

The van carrying Sinha appeared to be behind the attack and the perpetrators appeared to have malicious intent, according to the report.

The report was presented at a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Defense Ministry held in Parliament on Wednesday (October 8). After the meeting, Major General (retired) Mohammad Subid Ali Bhuiyan, chairman of the committee, confirmed the report.

Said Major (Retd.) Sinha. The army has submitted a report on the murder of Rashed Khan. The committee called for an immediate end to the killings.

According to the report, Commander (retired) Sinha shot and killed Inspector Liakat Ali at the Shamlapur Police Checkpoint in the Marine Drive area below the Teknaf Police Station around 9.25am on July 31. Rashed Khan was assassinated. According to preliminary information, on July 3 he arrived at Cox’s Bazar from Dhaka with 3 students from the Department of Film and Media at Stamford University to make a travel video for a YouTube channel called ‘Just Go’. And Nilima stayed at a resort called Cottage and shot various locations in Cox’s Bazar for a month.

Sinha said after the shooting on the night of July 31. Rashed Khan took his partner Sahezul Islam Sifat from Marishbunia Hill and drove to Cox’s Bazar in a private car with Marine Drive. Along the way, they were detained at the BGB checkpoint before Shamlapur to be searched and released after identification.

Around 9:25 pm, while crossing the Shalapur police checkpoint, Inspector Liaquat Sinha together with the APBN force. Rashed Khan’s car stopped. Sinha said. When Rashed Khan stopped the car and introduced them, the APBN members first waved them away, but Inspector Liaquat stopped them again, pointed a gun at them and told them to get out of the car.

Sifat got out of the car with her hands up and went back to the back. Major (Ret.) Sinha said. As soon as Rashed Khan got out of the car with his hands up, Inspector Liaquat shot him point-blank. Approximately 20-25 minutes after the incident, Teknaf OC Police Station (fired) Pradeep Kumar Das arrived at the scene and confirmed the death of Commander (retired) Sinha, who fell to the ground in a very cruel and inhuman manner.

It was further learned that Major (Ret.) Sinha was lying at the injured spot for about 20-25 minutes until Pradeep Kumar Das arrived at the scene. He was still alive. It can be mentioned here that the police checkpoint was run by APBN and the presence of Inspector Liakat Ali from the Baharchhara Research Center and Teknaf OC Police Station (fired) Pradeep Kumar Das at the scene at the time of the incident indicates your involvement and prior planning.

Major (Ret.) Sinha was later sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital in a van at 10 pm. When the van arrived at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital after approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, the doctor on duty declared him dead. It should be noted that even though it took 1 hour to cover that distance in normal time, those responsible were delayed in the extra time and arrived at the collection hospital carrying Major (Retired) Sinha.

After the incident, a letter was written on behalf of members of the Army on behalf of the Prime Minister to form a Joint Investigation Tribunal through the Department of the Armed Forces. Following this, the Home Office formed a four-member joint investigative committee convened by the Chittagong Division Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman (Deputy Secretary) to determine the exact cause of the murder of Major (Retired) Sinha.

On 6 September, the Joint Investigation Committee submitted the investigation report on the murder of Major (retd) Sinha to the Ministry of the Interior. At the same time, the army created a court of investigation to find out the cause of the murder, whose activities continue.

Local sources and various sources have linked the involvement of former Cox’s Bazar Police Superintendent (SP), ABM Masud Hossain, in the murder of Commander (retd) Sinha. It is said that he has been cooperating and obstructing the investigation from the beginning.

On 5 August a murder case was brought against the Teknaf Police Station, sister of Major (retd) Sinha, OC (fired) Pradeep Kumar Das and the Baharchhara Research Center run by Liaquat. The investigation of this case was entrusted to the RAB.

The RAB interrogated 9 defendants (3 civilians and 6 policemen) in preventive detention. At the end of pre-trial detention, three APBN members and Inspector Liaquat and SI Nandadulal made a confessional statement under Section 164. At the same time, it was learned that three civilians also gave statements under section 164. Teknaf Police Station OC (fired) Pradeep Kumar Das did not testify. The defendants are housed in the Cox’s Bazar District Jail. The case is currently under investigation under the RAB.

Three cases were brought against the accomplices of Major (retd) Sinha, Shipra Debnath and Shahedul Islam Sifat. Sifat and Shipra are currently free on bail in these three cases.

The meeting was chaired by the chairman of the investigative committee Mohammad Subid Ali Bhuiyan, member of the committee of the Ministry of Defense, Mohammad Farooq Khan, Maryland. Elias Uddin Mollah, Md. Motahar Hossain, Maryland. Nasir Uddin, Md. Mahibbur Rahman and Begum Nahid Izahar Khan participated.

The meeting was also attended by senior officials, including the Secretary of Defense, senior officials from the Army, Air Force and Navy, the Department of Meteorology and the Department of Studies, and concerned senior officials from the Secretary of Parliament.
