Article 9 (2) states that if a raped woman or child dies as a result of rape or any other post-rape activity, the person will be punished with death or life imprisonment and a fine not to exceed one lakh rupees. . Furthermore, article 9 (3) provides that if more than one person rapes a woman or child in a group and the woman or child is killed or injured as a result of the rape, each person in that group will be punished with the same death or life imprisonment and no less. A fine of one lakh of rupees is also punishable. (4) If a person tries to kill or injure a woman or a child by raping, the person will be punished with life imprisonment and also with a fine.
