Noakhali Begumganj Upazila Eklashpur Union, the woman was tortured before undressing. Delwar Hossain raped her twice. But she couldn’t say it for fear of insecurity and Delwar. The woman filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission.
An investigation team led by the director of the National Human Rights Commission (Complaints and Investigations), Al-Mahmoud Fazlul Kabir, visited the site and spoke with the women victims on Tuesday afternoon. Al-Mahmud Fazlul Kabir made the remarks at a press conference at the Noakhali Judicial Court of First Instance in the afternoon.
Quoting the woman, the director of the National Human Rights Commission said: “Since the woman is illiterate and a villager, she could not say the actual moment of the rape.” But she says Delwar first raped her a year ago, at night in his own home. Then she was raped a second time before the last Eid-ul-Fitr. They took her in a boat and raped her.
During the second rape, Delwar was assisted by another young man named Kalam. Through him, Delwar called the woman to the boat. Later, Delwar fired Kalam with money. The director of the Human Rights Commission said preparations are under way to present a case in this regard.
On September 2, around 9 pm, a housewife entered the house of a housewife in the Eklashpur Union of Begumganj Upazila and tied up her husband in the next room. Then they tried to rape the housewife. When the housewife interrupted, they stripped naked, brutally beat her and recorded videos on their mobile phones. She then spread the video on social media because she did not agree with the unethical proposal. This incident has caused commotion throughout the country.
The victim filed a case with the Begumganj Police Station under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act and the Pornography Control Act on Sunday evening. Seven to eight other unidentified people were named as defendants. However, Delwar was not charged. Meanwhile, five people, including four defendants in two cases, have been arrested. The police have dispatched four defendants.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Delwar Hossain on Sunday night after searching a bus on the Dhaka-Chittagong road in the Shimrail area below the Siddhirganj Police Station in Narayanganj. A pistol, a magazine and two bullets were recovered from his body. Abdullah Sheikh, DAD of RAB-11, filed a case with the Siddhirganj Police Station under the Gun Act. Today he is in preventive detention in this case.
According to Delwar’s confession, a RAB-11 team raided a fish farm in Delwar’s Begumganj in Noakhali on Monday night. At that time, seven fresh cocktails and two bales were recovered from the fish farm.
