Chittagong: The police have rescued two young women from a house in the residential area of Kalpalok below the Bakalia police station after receiving a call from the National Emergency Service 999. In addition, the police have arrested two people, including one women, accused of forcing them to work as prostitutes.
Police said on Tuesday (October 8) that two young women were rescued and two others were arrested.
The two detainees are Delwar Hossain (25) and Shaheen Akhter (24). Delwar Hossain is the son of Zafar Ahmed from the Ichhamatirkul area of Satkania upazila and Shahin Akter is the son of Mohammad from the Dewanpur area of Raozan upazila. Daughter of Hanif Talukdar.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Chawkbazar area) Muhammad Raisul Islam told banglanews that two young women were rescued from a house in the residential area of Kalpalok below the Bakalia police station after receiving a call of the National Emergency Service 999. Said the Bakalia Police Officer in Charge (OC). Nezam Uddin told banglanews that a young woman called 999 on Monday afternoon and reported that she and her half-sister were locked in a house. The call was later linked to the Baklia OC number. The victim could not say the address of the house. Subsequently, the police tried to locate them and rescue the two victims.
OC said. Nezam Uddin said that the two victims were working at Karnafuli EPZ Kenpark Bangladesh Apparel Private Limited. They lost their jobs during the Corona epidemic. A person named Rekha from that garment contacted a person named Rakib for a job. Rakib and Shawkat Ali Khan took them to a house in residential Kalpalok after tempting them to give them work. Later, Delwar Hossain and Shaheen Akhter and others forced the two young women into prostitution.
The CO said: “I have come to know that Rakib and Shawkat Ali Khan rented the house and took advantage of the impotence of the women and forced them into prostitution.” Attempts are being made to stop them.
