Dhaka: A black flag procession started towards the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday (October 6) to protest the recent rape and torture across the country, including Begumganj in Noakhali.

On Monday (October 5) morning, people of different classes and professions, including student union workers, began to take a position at the Shahbagh intersection in protest of recent rape incidents in various parts of the country, including the torture of a woman in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali. From there, they vigorously protested the statement made by the Interior Minister that “rapes occur in all parts of the world.” They also demanded exemplary punishment for rapists in no time. Later in the evening, they announced another rally on Tuesday and a black flag procession to the Prime Minister’s Office.
