Names of special personalities are being redeemed in the name of giving girls the opportunity to model and perform on Facebook and other social sites. This time, Arup Biswas, the Minister of the State of West Bengal, India, has been implicated in the scam.
Behind this scam was a young man named Ranjit Biswas aka Akash Biswas. Akash Biswas has already been arrested by the Taliganj police. According to the investigation, Akash Biswas began talking to several young women on the social site. Then he took money from those young women in order to give them modeling opportunities. He was even accused of making bad deals by showing the temptation of the colorful world. He is accused of trying to exert influence by identifying himself at times as the son of a minister and at other times as the son of a brother.
Detectives have identified a total of 8 profiles of the defendant Akash Biswas on Facebook. In addition to the Taliganj police station, the Lalbazar cyber cell is also investigating the incident.
It is also investigating whether anyone else is involved in this cycle of bogus fraud by discrediting the minister’s name. Meanwhile, Arup Biswas himself has filed a written complaint with the police.
