Saudi citizens have been urged to boycott all Turkish products. Azlan Al Azlan, director of the Saudi Arabian Chamber of Commerce, said it was the responsibility of every Saudi citizen to boycott everything in Turkey, including imports, investment, and tourism.
According to Reuters, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a recent speech that some Arabian Gulf countries have targeted Turkey and are pursuing a policy of destabilizing the region. Following Erdogan’s remarks, the Saudi Arabian Chamber of Commerce called the country’s citizens.
The head of the Saudi Arabian Chamber of Commerce said in a tweet: “It is the responsibility of every Saudi businessman and consumer to boycott everything in Turkey. Be it import, investment or tourism.
“This should be done due to Turkey’s continued hostile attitude towards our government, country and citizens,” Azlan said.
Turkey’s relations with Saudi Arabia deteriorated in 2016 after the assassination of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khasogi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
