The court confirmed the incident to Deputy Police Inspector (SI) Ajmal Hossain, who said that the accused professor was brought to court on the same day his statement was taken.
The name of the accused professor is Shahidullah (45). He is the son of the late Abdus Sattar Babdushi from the Uttar Ichli area of Chandpur district and a teacher at Markazul Quran Qawmi Madrasa in the Mizmiji Painadi New Mahalla area of Siddhirganj.
Earlier on the night of October 4, the police arrested Shahidullah, a teacher from Markazul Quran Qawmi Madrasa and Lillah Boarding, on the basis of a complaint filed by the family of a girl victim who had been raped.
The child’s uncle has filed a case under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act at the Siddhirganj Police Station.
According to the family of the 11-year-old rape victim, Master Shahidullah has been raping the student for the past 15 days. The teacher also used to give painkillers to the students to reduce pain. If the student wanted to go home from the madrasa, he would be intimidated in various ways. The last time the girl was raped was on September 30 at 10:30 am. After receiving the opportunity, the student boy ran away from the madrasa and went home and informed the parents about the matter.
The officer in charge of the Siddhirganj (OC) police station, Kamrul Farooq, told Time News: “We arrested the accused teacher after receiving a complaint from the student’s family.” He also confessed to the rape during questioning.
“We took the case against the teacher and sent it to court on Monday,” the OC said. He was later sent to jail by court order. In addition, the student’s statement has also been registered with the court.
