Alam Kibria, a young man from Nabinagar Upazila in Brahmanbaria, set a record by creating the highest-rated website in the world.

The more than five thousand five hundred categories of websites created by him, ‘www.amargram.xyz’, have been recognized by Guinness World Records as the most categorized website in the world.

Kibria received the Guinness Book of World Records on Sunday. Kibria has created this website to gather all the information from 6,000 Bangladeshi villages in one address.

Alam Kibria, son of Hiran Mollah from Gazikandi village in Krishnanagar, Nabinagar upazila union of Brahmanbaria, is the sixth of seven siblings. Baba Hiran Mollah is a farmer by profession. And mother Khadija Begum is a housewife. In 2016, Kibria passed the Upper Secondary Exam at Birgaon College in Nabinagar Upazila.

Then he went to Dhaka to be a college coach. In addition to coaching, he spent a few months learning web development at an IT educational institution. The attraction to information technology seems to spark a desire to make a name for himself in the Guinness Book of World Records. And that’s why Kibria started the ‘My Village’ website without wasting time sitting at home during the Corona virus epidemic.

His plan was to bring the necessary information and phone numbers, including the names of 6,000 villages in Bangladesh, to one address. From then on, he started building the largest category website. Spend 10-12 hours every day for several months in a row building a website.

Kibria said, “I bought the website domain and did the design and development work myself.” No one in the family knew what he was doing or doing at home all day. Because no one in my family had much of an idea about information technology. I was at home at the time of the coronavirus. But I have worked on the website without wasting time at home. The data had to be collected from various Facebook groups and government websites and from Google and Wikipedia.

“My website has the highest category in the world,” he said. Five thousand 56 categories have been added to the site. Once you enter the site, you will be able to see the map of 64 districts of Bangladesh. Even if you click on the district according to the map, you will get the necessary information, including the names of all the upazilas and unions and towns in that district. So far I have included the names of 6,000 towns. But the village information is still being updated. Anyone can go to the site and update their own village information; such an arrangement has been made.

“I applied to the Guinness Book of World Records on September 20 for recognition of this website as the highest category website, at a cost of US $ 5,” he said. The Guinness Book of World Records approved my application after scrutiny. I received your credentials on Sunday.

Now I give more importance to the security aspect of the website. “Everyone will feel successful when they need to get information from the website I created,” he said.
