Two defendants are in preventive detention for six days.

Noakhali: Two defendants arrested in Noakhali for torturing a housewife in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali. Rahim and Rahmat Ullah have been in pre-trial detention for three days and six days in two cases.

When the Chief Judge of Noakhali Begumganj appeared in court on Monday evening (October 5), the Senior Judge Mashfiqul Haque granted the two defendants a preventive detention of two days and six days.

Previously, Begumganj (SI) Police Deputy Inspector Mostaq Ahmed asked the court for a seven and 14 day pre-trial detention in both cases.

Additional Police Superintendent Shahjahan Sheikh of Noakhali Begumganj Circle has confirmed the pre-trial detention.

By the way, on Sunday (October 4) at noon, 32 days after the incident, a video of the housewife being tortured went viral on social media Facebook. The matter came to the attention of the local administration. For the last 32 days since the incident, local defendants Delwar, Badal, Kalam and their associates have been laying siege to the abused housewife’s family for a few days. At one point, when her entire family was forced to leave their homes, the entire incident remained hidden from the locals and the police administration for a long time. When the incident came to light, the police and the RAB conducted several raids and arrested four defendants, including the main one.
