Pedestrians rescued a newborn boy from a market bag on Sunday night (October 4) on the side of the road in Kaliganj, Satkhira. Later he was admitted to the Upazila Health Complex. According to the upazila administration and the locals, the incident took place in the Golkhali Mahashamshan area of the Tarali union of upazila.
Pedestrians Israel Biswas, Abdus Sattar and Panchanan Mandal said they would go to the fish farm on Sunday night. In the Golkhali Mahasmashan area, the sound of crying can be heard with the movement of a shopping bag. They opened the bag and saw a child eating a newborn with ants. The boy was immediately rescued and taken to the Upazila Health Complex.
Kaliganj Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer. Sheikh Taibur Rahman said that the newborn is healthy. The baby was born 3-4 hours before he was admitted to the hospital.
Kaliganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Mozammel Haque Russell said the newborn is currently in the care of the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer and Social Services Officer. The child will be adopted. Interested families can apply. However, more priority will be given to families with government employees.
