When the incident of the organized rape in the dormitory of MC College in Sylhet became known, his political ‘older brothers’ rushed to protect the rapists. As soon as the police hoped to catch the defendant outside the university, they received a call from the older brothers.

Then he fled quickly. BCL leader Tarekul Islam Tareq, the second defendant in the case, and Mahfuzur Rahman Masum, the sixth defendant in the case, said so in their separate statements under section 164 in a separate court on Sunday.

According to judicial sources, Tareq and Masum made almost the same statement. However, Saifur, Arjun, Ronnie and Tareq were involved in the rape. The victim was on the verge of fainting before Masum and Rabiul were raped. As a result, they were unable to rape.

Masum and Rabiul arrived by motorcycle and simply cooperated with them. Tareq said Saifur told him to drive while forcing the victim out of the MC College gate. He drove to the hostel.

Earlier, at the end of the five days of preventive detention, they were taken into police custody at 2.30 pm on Sunday by the Metropolitan Additional Chief Magistrate of Sylhet. When Ziadur Rahman was brought before the court, they expressed their desire to testify under article 164.

Later, the court gave each of them time to have a snack. Then your statements will be taken in separate courts.

Upon confirming the information, Sylhet Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner (Prosecutor’s Office) Amulya Kumar Chowdhury told Jugantar that each of them admitted their involvement in the incident and gave a statement under Section 164 in court.

Earlier on Friday and Saturday, the other six defendants in the case were brought to court after pre-trial detention and gave confessional statements under section 164.

They are: Saifur Rahman, Arjun Laskar, Rabiul Islam, Shah Mohammad. Mahbubur Rahman Rony, Misbauer Rahman Rajan and Ainuddin. The incident took place the night of September 25 in the dormitory of MC College.

The Chhatra League leaders Saifur, Tareq, Arjun, Rabiul, Rony and Masum involved in the incident were named as defendants in the case. Two or three more people were charged outside the case.

The district police and the RAB-9 arrested a total of eight fugitives outside the city. A total of eight people, including six defendants detained in the case, have made confessional statements under article 164 in court.

Previously, the police detained each of the six defendants detained in this sensational case step by step for five days.
