The bloody bodies of a couple have been recovered in Damurhuda upazila de Chuadanga. Police recovered two bodies from their home in the Hauli union village of Gobindpur in upazila on Sunday night (4 October).
The deceased were identified as Yar Ali, 58, from the village of Gobindpur at the union of Hawli and his second wife, Rozina Khatun.
Yar Ali and Rozina Khatun are known to have fallen asleep at their home after eating and drinking last Saturday night. Neighbors became suspicious as they had not seen anyone entering and leaving the house since Sunday morning and did not get a response from them. Neighbors leaned out of the window Sunday night and found the bodies of Yar Ali and Rozina Khatun lying inside. When informed to the police, the Damurhuda police recovered his body that had been sacrificed overnight.
Police initially speculated that sometime on Saturday night, the criminals massacred them and fled after confirming the murder.
The Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Damurhuda Model Police Station, Abdul Khaleq, said their bodies were recovered after receiving information from locals. Their bodies have been sent to the Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. The incident is being investigated.
