Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of Hindus, is going to be celebrated in a special situation this time in the midst of the coronavirus epidemic. Interior Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today held a virtual meeting with stakeholders on issues such as the security of the puja mandapa and the situation of law and order at risk of epidemic.

According to the decision of the meeting, when entering the puja mandapa this year, one must ensure hygiene, including maintaining social distance, hand washing and disinfectant, a mandatory mask for everyone. At the same time, the puja holding committee was requested to take steps to reduce the number of puja mandapas as much as possible, as well as to broadcast the Anjali program live on television.

The meeting was attended virtually by the Superior Secretary of the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of the Interior; Staff Officer, Armed Forces Division, Army Headquarters; Secretary, Department of Security Services, Ministry of the Interior; Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs; Secretary, Ministry of Information; Inspector General of Police; Director General of the Coast Guard, Ansar and VDP, BGB, RAB, NSI, Firefighters and Civil Defense and senior officials of the concerned ministries.
