Md. Imam Uddin Sumon, Noakhali Correspondent: In Begumganj, Noakhali, a group of talented local youths tortured a housewife by tying up her husband in medieval style and raping her at her home. This is not the end, in the end the torture took the video of the housewife stripping her naked and brutally beating her.
The video of the tortured housewife was posted on social media Facebook on Sunday, October 4 at noon, 32 days after the incident. Later, when the video went viral, the local administration was shocked.
It is known that in the last 32 days after the incident, the defendants Delwar, Badal, Kalam and their associates blocked the family of the gang-raped housewife and the entire incident remained invisible to the locals and the police administration. Currently, the victim’s house is locked and the victim’s family is missing.
According to locals, the Begumganj police visited the site around 4 pm on Sunday and arrested the young accused. Arrested Abdur Rahim (28) is a resident of Haridhan Bari in the East Eklashpur village of Eklashpur Union.
Locals say the incident took place last month (September 2) at Nur Islam Miah’s home in the Khalpar area of Eklashpur union district 9 in upazila.
The locals allege that the housewife was gang-raped. Fearing gang rape, the family was reluctant to talk about it. So even though 32 days have passed since the incident, the victim’s family was unable to file any complaint with the police.
The officer in charge of the Begumganj (OC) police station, Mohammad Harun Ur Rashid, said that the police were present at the scene. One person has been arrested in the incident. The victim’s home is locked and the housewife could not be found at her home. If the victim is found, it will be known whether it is an incident of gang rape or torture.
Noakhali Super Md Police Alamgir Hossain said five units of the district police were working in the field to arrest the accused and rescue the victim’s family.
