Najib Tarakai, the right-handed starter for the Afghanistan cricket team, has been involved in a terrible car accident.
More than 24 hours have passed since the accident but he has not regained consciousness.
According to doctors, the cricketer slipped into a coma due to a brain injury.
The official tweet from the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) read: “National team cricketer Najib Tarakai was seriously injured in a traffic accident yesterday. He was operated on at night. However, the situation has not improved. All the necessary measures have been taken for his speedy recovery.
According to the cricket editor, the Afghanistan Cricket Board is considering sending Najib Tarakai to a better hospital in the capital Kabul or abroad as he has not regained consciousness.
The captain of the Afghanistan cricket team, Asghar Afghan, Karim Sadiq, and the board officials went to the hospital to see Najib Tarakai.
Najib Tarakai has so far played 12 ODIs for the Afghanistan national cricket team. He has scored 256 runs in 12 games in T20 cricket.
