A housewife named Julia Khatun (20) died after jumping out of her husband’s private moving car in Bagha, Rajshahi. The incident took place at Dakshin Milik Bagha in the Bagha Bazar area on Saturday (October 3) morning.
Julia Khatun is the daughter of Mosharraf Hossain from the Mirganj area of upazila. She has a 5 year old son. The police have arrested her husband Mohammad Ali (28) in the incident. Mohammad Ali, son of Shahidul Mandal of Rajbari. He is a clothing merchant.
Julia’s uncle, Makul Hossain, said that Mohammad Ali married Julia Khatun about 8 years ago. Recently, the relationship between them was not going well. For this reason, Julia has been staying at her father’s house in Bagha for the last month. She objected to returning to her husband in Dhaka. However, on Friday, Mohammad Ali arrived at his father-in-law’s house to take his wife and children.
He added that Mohammad Ali was going to Bagha Bazaar with his wife and children in a private car around 10 am on Saturday. At one point he changed direction and began his journey to Dhaka. That is why Julia jumped onto the road from the private car. She was seriously injured. She later died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RAMEC).
Bagha Police Station Deputy Inspector (SI) Mamunur Rashid said Julia’s body was recovered and taken to the Ramek hospital morgue. The family of the deceased has come to the police station. They are not willing to sue. The police are taking legal action.
