RAB has found a weapons factory in the deep hills of Palangkhali Madhurchhara in Ukhia de Cox’s Bazar. During the night raid, three firearms, two rounds of ammunition and a large quantity of weapons material were recovered together with two arms manufacturers.

The operation was carried out from Friday night until late at night and they were detained with weapons.

The detainees are Abu Majid alias Kana Majid and Ravi Alam, residents of Maheshkhali upazila. They are both arms manufacturers.
RAB-15 Deputy Commander Major Mehedi Hasan said a RAB-15 team raided the Kutupalong Rohingya camp on Friday night after learning that some arms dealers were stationed in the deep hills.

At one stage of the operation, two people were arrested on a hill called Madhurchhara. Three pistols, two bullets, and various weapons-making equipment were later recovered from a makeshift house where they were stationed.

He said the detainees used to come from Maheshkhali and stay in the deep mountainous areas of Madhurchhara to manufacture weapons and regularly supply them to the Rohingya.

They have been making this weapon for a long time, said Major Mehedi Hasan, RAB-15 deputy commander.
