The UN government convoy was attacked after a raid on an illegal sand dune in Sherpur, Bogra. The incident took place in the Baraitali Naldangi area of the Khanpur union of the Upazila around 6 pm on Saturday. Two UNO employees were injured at the time.

Sherpur Upazila Nirbahi (UN) official Liaquat Ali Sheikh confirmed the information, saying that market monitoring activities had been carried out under his leadership since noon on the day of the incident to curb the rise in commodity prices. in different areas of upazila, including Sherua Battala Bazar. At that time there were reports of illegal sand mining from the Bengali River in the Baraitali Nabinagar and Naldangi areas of Khanpur Union.
Subsequent raids were carried out there. But since no one was found there, the sand mining equipment was being opened illegally. At this moment the mercenaries of the sand miners gathered and surrounded them. Get up at the same time. He even said they got excited and attacked his car and wrecked it. He claimed that the two employees who were with him at the time were beaten and injured when they tried to arrest him. The attackers later fled after additional police arrived at the scene.
Sherpur Police Inspector (Investigation) SM Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the incident and said he went to the scene with additional police officers as soon as he received the news. At the same time, he rescued all members of the operation including UNO. He said six people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident. They are being investigated.
