Voting for the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) elections has ended. Counting in progress. All the candidates and soccer fans in the country are waiting for the announcement of the results.

The 2020 BFF elections were held in a festive and quiet atmosphere at the Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Saturday. Voting began shortly after 2 p.m. and continued until 6 p.m. The probable time to announce results is at 8 pm.

Of the 139 councilors, 135 voted. That means 98.12 percent of the votes were cast. The four who did not vote were Tarafdar Ruhul Amin, Senior Vice President of Chittagong Abahani, Nazmul Islam Khandaker, President of the Faridpur District Football Association, Maksudur Rahman, Director of Sheikh Russell and Safwan Sobhan, President of Sheikh Jamal. Mezbah Uddin, who is the acting chief election commissioner, said the problems.

In the elections held after four years, there are 46 candidates against 21 seats. Three people are fighting for the position of president. Among them is Kazi Salauddin, the joint council candidate and current president. The independent candidates Shafiqul Islam Manik and Badal Roy are against him.

Salauddin has so far served as BFF’s chief president for three terms. Run for the fourth time. On the other hand, Manik and Badal are running for president for the first time.
