Rajshahi: Locals have recovered the decomposed bodies of private university student Soochana and her younger brother who disappeared in a ship that sank in the Padma River in Rajshahi seven days later.

The bodies floated in two rivers around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday (October 3).

Then the locals rescued the bodies from the two rivers and brought them to the banks. At present, two bodies are found there.

Rajshahi Naval Police (OC) Officer-in-Charge Mehedi Masud confirmed the information to banglanews.

He said that after receiving the news, the police went to the scene. The two bodies will be recovered shortly and handed over to the family at the end of the legal process. Today, the uncle and uncle of the two dead are at the scene.

Sadia Islam Soochana and Rimon, who disappeared after their boat capsized in the Padma River in Rajshahi’s Paba Upazila, were not found even after two days.

Zakir Hossain, deputy deputy director of the Rajshahi Fire and Civil Defense Service, told banglanews: “We have been conducting rescue operations for two days, but no one has been found.” That is why the operation in the area of ​​the accident has been stopped. We have contacted various levels of administration, including river fishing. I told them to let us know if they saw a corpse floating somewhere.

Earlier on Friday (September 25) afternoon, a small boat with 15 passengers sank in the Padma River in Rajshahi. Although 13 people were rescued alive, Sadia Islam Soochana, a student at the American International University of Bangladesh, and her cousin Rimon disappeared. Naval police filed a case with Damkura Police Station on Saturday (September 26) for the incident. The half-dead bodies of the two men floated to the place where the ship sank on Saturday morning.

Missing Sadia Islam Soochana is a third semester BBA student at American International University Bangladesh (AIUB). She lives in the Dhanmondi area of Dhaka. She came to visit her uncle Jalal Uddin’s home in the Kholabona area of Paba upazila. Another missing cousin is Rimon. Her home is in Naogaon. She is an eighth grade student.
