The kidnappers stabbed the bride’s brother after failing to abduct her from a wedding ceremony in Dhunat upazila de Bogra. The wedding was taking place in the house. At that moment, Imran and Sadman arrived at the wedding house and tried to kidnap the bride. When the bride’s cousin, Mehedi Hasan Sabuj, detained her, the kidnappers stabbed her and tried to escape. Imran and Sadman Ali were abducted by the people from the bridal house and handed over to the police. The injured Mehedi Hasan was admitted first to the Dhunat Upazila Health Complex and then to the Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
Imran Hossain Talukder, who was arrested at the police station, said: “I had a love affair with the girlfriend for about a year.” After receiving the news of her marriage, I came to the wedding house to see her. But the people in the marriage house get angry and start hitting us. The girl’s brother was injured with her own knife at one point in the wreckage while fleeing from them.
Dhunat Police Officer-in-Charge (CO) Kripa Sindhu Bala said two people were arrested at the scene after receiving the news. The treatment of the injured person has been investigated. After the marriage, the bride went to her husband’s house. A case is being prepared at the police station.
